TAKES IT BEYOND INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
Ready to take your training and education initiatives to the next level ?
I’m a fully-remote Instructional Designer, eLearning consultant and platform trainer with a secure, dependable virtual office, tech skills and over 20 years’ experience collaborating in today’s team driven, project-based environment. I was a home-based business/marketing strategy consultant (Sage Enterprises, LLC) before remote became a “thing”! I’m motivated by designing trainings that demonstrate a clear learning journey with measurable results. I’m efficient, self-driven, and, because of my breadth of experience, can jump into any learning environment and hit the ground running in hours not weeks.
How Can I Be of Service?
That’s what I ask right after I get to know someone a bit. Having a service mindset is just one of my driving philosophies. It allows me to quickly connect with colleagues and audiences. If you’re like most companies looking for a Professional to add to your learning team. Tami Can Take On:
Training & Assessment Strategy Development
An overall assessment of the organization, its learning needs (from individual, departmental and company standpoints), developing learning personas, content recommendations, delivery methods, resource requirements and measurement frameworks.
Instructional Design
Working in state-of-the-art interactive development environments, I create unique learning solutions that drive results. Research, develop and design training decks, storyboards, and learning assets with an eye toward maximizing UI/UX with a variety of today’s top-tier graphics tools. This includes eLearning solutions that offer learners comprehensive, interactive and dynamic experiences based around SCORM-compliant resources.
Multi-Year Program Development
I create Multi-Year Training and Exercise Plans (MYTEP) that establishes overall exercise program priorities and outlines a multi-year schedule of training and activities designed to address those priorities with an increasing level of complexity over three to five years. It is reviewed on an annual basis to ensure that the plans are meeting established KPIs.
Train the Trainer
If your organization has a small learning and development team or a limited budget, using a train the trainer program could be an important part of your talent development solution. I develop, deliver and ensure a train the trainer framework that turns employees into subject matter experts who can then teach other members of your organization.
Multi-language and Localization
I can adapt and deploy learning content to global, multi-language regions and manage the vendors who provide design and translation services.
Legacy Content Conversion
Converting legacy content is rarely a purely technical process. I can help you review and select the legacy content from both conceptual (re-writing and re-structuring content) and planning perspectives for the conversion itself.
Learning Management Systems & Processes
I rely on analytics and best-in-class LMS to build and optimize learning processes (and the people that run them) to ensure content development is completed and deployed in a manner that optimizes both efficiency, quality and usage.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Training Strategy Development
The first diversity training I led was nearly 15 years ago – well before global protests raised awareness of inequities in all aspects of our lives. I can support your DE&I initiatives by advising and recommending scalable training content through an on-demand platform that include case studies, videos, stories and other innovative approaches that meet today’s challenging HR environment.
Content Development & Management
Oversee the end-to-end content lifecycle process (strategy, ideation, production, distribution and measurement). This includes conducting audits and assessments to identify required net new content, and content that needs to be retired/refreshed to meet agreed upon learning strategies.

NOTABLE PROJECTS
Jobs To Be Done Framework
PROBLEM: Organization consistently missed revenue goals and “reached with training” KPIs
SOLUTION: Collaborated with the Marketing Science team to develop an all-new, customer-centric training approach that begins with categorizing, defining, capturing and organizing customer needs (internal and external) in one document so that all communications across the company are consistent in messaging and training approach. Used to developed training and education content arc for the company’s largest global event that reaches 100,000 participants. Includes in-person, on-platform and virtual programming.
Improving Employee Retention
PROBLEM: A Community hospital had a 60%+ turnover rate of new hires in the first 90 days. Unfortunately, the hospital was already short-staffed particularly with their Nursing staff.
SOLUTION:
- • New Hires: Through external market research and internal employee surveys, overhauled the new hire orientation program with an eye toward improving human experience immediately. Engaged department heads in the process and introduced soft skills training, in addition to the required regulatory trainings to fully prepare new hires for success. Improvements led to 75% increase in retention rates.
- • Current Employees: Assessed hospital-wide employee development needs from organizational, departmental and individual perspectives to develop performance improvement, professional development and succession plans.
- • Adding Value: Based on learning gap analysis, developed relationships with two colleges to bring educational opportunities on-site. Included a GED program, CNA program and basic skills classes that increased job advancement opportunities for existing employees.
Performance Intervention
PROBLEM: A New York City hospital system serving 2.6 million residents was in danger of being taken over by the state because of its low HCAP scores, poor quality of care, excessive “incidents” reports and questionable healthcare practices in the emergency room. Insurance reimbursements were in jeopardy of being reduced and long wait times were often highlighted in major news media. Language, cultural and religious differences led to frequent verbal and physical conflicts in front of patients.
SOLUTION: Conducted 60-day needs analysis that resulted in developing a comprehensive, 21-day training program centered around internal and external customer service with a sports/teamwork theme. Developed blended learning, game-based curriculum for an inclusive staff training – from Executives to the sanitation workers. Program included leadership development, executive coaching, soft skills, and team building Program led to 20-point increase in Emergency Department HCAP scores. Its success led to repeating the training at its 126-year-old sister hospital.
Adding Value to Membership Associations
Helped a national association increase the value of their membership by creating a multi-year leadership development program. Interviewed the association’s CEO, board members, senior management team, regional directors, and members to design, develop and deliver a five-year professional development training program that earned accreditation by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
